The order

What happens,
in order.

Nothing is hidden and nothing is a surprise. Each part is announced as we come to it, so you will always know where we are.

Singing
We sing together without accompaniment — everybody, not a band at the front. The words are provided, nobody is judged on the quality of their voice, and it is the part most visitors say they remember.
Prayer
One of the men leads the congregation in prayer aloud, and we pray with him. Requests from the church family are brought before God by name.
Reading the Scriptures
A passage is read aloud before it is preached. If you have brought a Bible you can follow along; if not, one will be handed to you at the door.
The Lord's Supper
We celebrate the Lord's Supper — the communion of the saints — as we remember the death of Christ, just as the first-century Christians did every first day of the week. Bread and cup are passed through the congregation, and it takes a few quiet minutes.
Preaching
About thirty to forty minutes from a passage of Scripture, working through what it says and what it asks. You will be able to see where every point comes from in the text.
Giving
A collection is taken among the members who have chosen to support the work here. No visitor is ever persuaded to give, and nobody will look.

Practical things

Eleven until one

Sunday worship runs from 11:00 to 13:00. Doors open half an hour before, for fellowship and welcoming.

Come as you are

There is no dress code. You will see suits and you will see trainers, and nobody is counting.

Children stay with you

Children are in the room with their families for the service. Noise is expected and nobody minds. There is a quiet space at the back with a view of the room.

Singing without instruments

We sing a cappella — the congregation is the instrument. It is one of the oldest practices of the churches of Christ and it is worth hearing once.

Who leads

Led by our
resident evangelist.

Kufre Okon

Worship here is handled by Kufre Okon, our resident evangelist and minister. He leads the gathering on a Sunday and carries the teaching of the congregation — the same teaching the sermon archive records between Sundays.

Anything about the service — its order, a question the sermon raised, or a Bible study of your own — can be brought to him, before or after we gather.
