How it works
In practice
We are a church in a specific place, and that place has specific needs. The monthly collection takes in, sorts and distributes food and household essentials to families across the ward, working alongside other local groups rather than duplicating what they already do well.
Beyond the collection there is a good deal of quieter work: sitting with people through form-filling and appointments, providing a warm room and a hot drink in winter, and knowing who to call when something is beyond us.
None of this is conditional. Nobody has to come to a service, answer a question about faith, or explain themselves to receive help.
